Justice

Another News Video from a Foreign Country

This is a bunch of angerd people demanding justice. There were few but they relly made a point. It is nice to see that people are still willing to fight for their justice.

Straight from your TV

NBC New on Genocide

This video explains the aftermath of the Genocide. It discusses mostly about the rape victimsin the country. The Pakistani soliders showed no mercy in their violent ways.

Well........Sorry

Well at leat they are sorry about killing most of Bangladeshis. Yes this may be a step in the right direction and heal a few wounds but this is not the end. I don't know what we could do to help these poor people.

Protest

Bangladesh Demo

This is a very powerful image and it give every one hope. These people faced almost certain death for their leader. Indpendence must be very important to these people. Growing up in America, i am born free; these peopl had to fight for their freedom which makes me feel a little more greatful for my independence

Power

Kill three million of them (Bangalees), and the rest will eat out of our hands. (President Yahya Khan, at the February conference, 1971 before the beginning of the genocide)

This is very straight to the point and President Yahya knew what he was talking about. When i hear this Bush comes to mind and the idea of a new president comes to mind. Bush's hunt em' down and kill em' apporoach is not working and we need change. Guess what, change is Barack Obama's slogan for his run at presidency. If i had a vote, i wonder who i would give it to?

The Truth

“For month after month in all the regions of East Pakistan the massacres went on,” writes Robert Payne. “They were not the small casual killings of young officers who wanted to demonstrate their efficiency, but organized massacres conducted by sophisticated staff officers, who knew exactly what they were doing. Muslim soldiers, sent out to kill Muslim peasants, went about their work mechanically and efficiently, until killing defenseless people became a habit like smoking cigarettes or drinking wine. … Not since Hitler invaded Russia had there been so vast a massacre.” (Payne, Massacre, p. 29.)

This is basically why I chose this issue to blog about. Even though the genocide in bangladesh wasn't as hollywood as the Hitler invasion dosent mean we shouldn't recognize these people more often. Only until now I've heard of this problem and that occured almost fourty years ago! The world is getting too violent something needs to done about it. How come leaders always need to show their supremacy by bullying people around, aren't you the bigger man if you protect the weak?

Remorse

“…… we were told to kill the hindus and Kafirs (non-believer in God). One day in June, we cordoned a village and were ordered to kill the Kafirs in that area. We found all the village women reciting from the Holy Quran, and the men holding special congregational prayers seeking God’s mercy. But they were unlucky. Our commanding officer ordered us not to waste any time.”
Confession of a Pakistani Soldier

This shows that the leaders had no heart in what they were doing to these innocent people. It is much like the war in iraq. I watch the t.v. and i'll hear some confessions from soliders like why are we here, and what are we looking for? For some reason i thought that history wasn't supposed to repeat it self and that we learn from our mistakes, but i guess i was wrong.
